We are happy to announce that the Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur offers admission to PhD (Full-Time/Part-time) under the Exempted / Entrance Exam Category for the Academic Year 2026-2027.

PhD Seat Vacancy: Full-Time - 08, Part-Time - 04.
Candidate must have 5 years of service experience for Part-Time PhD.
Eligibility: Candidates willing to appear under Entrance Examination Category may check the detailed eligibility criteria or equivalent in our website PhD-Eligibility-criteria-AY-2026-2027.
Candidates who have completed:
- Two year/four semester Master's Degree after a three-year Bachelor Programme, with a minimum of 55% marks aggregate or equivalent grade OR
- One year/two semester Master's Degree after a four-year Bachelor Programme, with a minimum of 55% marks aggregate or equivalent grade OR
- Four-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade OR M.Phil. Degree with 55% of marks or its equivalent grade.
Exempted Category: University shall invite candidates who qualify Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under UGC/CSIR-NET or any Governmental agencies, or a pass in a national level test such as NET/GATE/CEED, etc., for interview.

Application Fee: All eligible candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.2360/- (incl. GST) for GEN/OBC/EWS and Rs.1770/- (incl. GST) for SC/ST/PWD/Third Gender.
