PhD Admission 2026–27: Application Deadline Extended up to September 14, 2026

Dear All,

This is to inform you that Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur has announced an extension of the application deadline for admission to the PhD Programme in for the Academic Year 2026–27 under the Exempted/Entrance Examination Category (Full-Time/Part-Time). 

The last date for submission of the online application, which was earlier scheduled for September 6, 2026, has now been extended up to September 14, 2026. Eligible candidates are encouraged to complete the registration and submit their applications within the extended deadline. 

The Department offers 08 Full-Time and 04 Part-Time PhD seats. Candidates applying under the Part-Time category are required to have five years of service experience, while candidates under the Exempted Category may include those qualifying for JRF under UGC/CSIR-NET or other eligible national-level examinations, as specified in the admission notification.

• Four-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade OR M.Phil. Degree with 55% of marks or its equivalent grade.

Exempted Category: University shall invite candidates who qualify Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under UGC/CSIR-NET or any Governmental agencies, or a pass in a national level test such as NET/GATE/CEED, etc., for interview.

This is to inform you that Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur offers spot admission to 2-year integrated Master of Library & Information Science (M. Note: There shall be online entrance exam conducted by the Department after registration and intimation regarding date and time shall be notified individually. The entrance exam will comprise of MCQs from the following discipline i.e., English Language Skill, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, Analytical Skills, Reasoning, General Aptitude, General Knowledge etc. Entrance Examination result shall be declared on the day of examination and selected candidates have to take admission within stipulated time by paying the prescribed fee for the program.
