Employment Achievement of Dr. Abhijit Roy as Assistant Professor

We are delighted to share that Dr. Abhijit Roy, a 2026 Ph.D. graduate and alumnus of the Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, has been appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at Sandip University, Sijoul, Madhubani, Bihar. This prestigious appointment offers an excellent remuneration package in the private university sector. 

Dr. Roy completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Akhandanand Shukla on the research topic, "Assessing the Open Access Friendliness of Indian Agricultural Universities through a Data Carpentry Approach." In addition to his faculty appointment, he has also been entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the Dean of the School

Successful Completion of Open Ph.D. Viva-Voce of Mr. Abhijit Roy, Ph.D. Scholar

Dear All,

We are pleased to inform you that Mr. Abhijit Roy, Ph.D. Scholar of the Department, successfully defended his Open Ph.D. Viva-Voce Examination held in the Smart Classroom on 06.05.2026 at 11:00 AM. His research topic was titled “Assessing the Open Access Friendliness of Indian Agricultural Universities through a Data Carpentry Approach.”

Mr. Abhijit Roy presented his research work in detail and satisfactorily answered the queries raised during the Open Ph.D. Viva-Voce Examination. Dr. Udayan Bhattacharya, Professor, Department of Library & Information Science, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, served as the External Examiner for the examination. Dr. Akhandanand Shukla, Professor and Research Supervisor, acted as the Convener of the Open Viva-Voce Examination.

The Open Ph.D. Viva-Voce Examination was attended by the RAC members of the scholar; faculty members; research scholars from the Department and other departments; postgraduate students; non-teaching staff; and staff members from the Central Library. The examination was conducted in hybrid mode.

Successful Completion of Open Ph.D. Viva-Voce of Mrs. Hasbi Alikunju, PhD Scholar

Dear All,

We are pleased to inform you that Mrs. Hasbi Alikunju, Ph.D. Scholar of the Department successfully defended her open Ph.D. viva-voce held at the Smart Classroom on 28th August 2025 at 11:00 AM. Her research topic was: "An Assessment of Health Information Poverty among Transgender Community in Kerala." Mrs. Hasbi Alikunju presented her research in detail and satisfactorily answered the queries raised during the open viva-voce. Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh from the Department of Library & Information Science, Gauhati University, Guwahati, served as the external examiner for the PhD viva-voce. Progression to Higher Education by Mr. Abhishek M.

Dear All, 

We are pleased to inform you that Mr. Abhishek M., an MLIS graduate (2021–2023 batch) and an alumnus of the Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, has been admitted to the Ph.D. Program in Library & Information Science at Pondicherry University under the supervision of Dr. M. Leeladharan. 

Prior to joining his Ph.D. program, he worked as a Library Assistant at Fr. Moses Library, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (RCSS), Kalamassery, Kochi, Kerala. He also qualified for the UGC-JRF and UGC-NET examinations conducted by NTA.
