Dear All,
This is to inform you that the 2nd Semester MLIS students of the Department of Library and Information Science organized a heartfelt farewell for the outgoing batch of 2025, with the theme “Check Out”—a symbolic phrase from the world of libraries, representing both a departure and the beginning of a new journey. The event took place on 19th May 2025 at 4:30 PM and was a joyful, emotional, and memorable occasion attended by faculty members, PhD scholars, juniors, and seniors.
The program began with a warm welcome by the event anchors, who set a nostalgic tone and introduced the theme, reflecting the idea of seniors "checking out" not just from the department but into a new chapter of life. The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. Ahsana, who greeted the gathering and emphasized the significance of the occasion. A cake-cutting ceremony followed, symbolizing the sweetness of shared memories and friendships. A group photo session captured the joyful spirit of the day with all attendees. Faculty members were then invited to the stage to deliver speeches and blessings, sharing kind words, encouragement, and fond memories with the seniors. PhD scholars also shared their experiences and extended best wishes to the outgoing batch. Each senior was then invited individually to share their experiences in the department—stories filled with emotion, gratitude, and humour. After each speech, a light-hearted activity added fun and engagement to the evening.
The celebration continued with interactive games and entertainment, fostering laughter and connection across batches. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ms. Minakshi, who expressed gratitude to the faculty, students, and organizers who made the evening so special. The farewell ended on an emotional note, with everyone leaving with warm memories, smiles, and promises to stay connected. The event truly celebrated the spirit of the Library and Information Science family—where everyone checks out with stories, friendships, and a heart full of gratitude.
