Dear All,

We are delighted to inform you that the students, research scholars, non-teaching staff, and faculty of the Department of Library and Information Science at the Central University of Tamil Nadu celebrated the Onam Festival 2024 in the department on 11th September 2024. The inauguration of the Onam celebration began with Dr. K. G. Sudhier providing an overview of the festival and addressing the attendees, followed by remarks from Dr. Taddi Murali, Dr. Akhandanand Shukla, Dr. Anila Sulochana, and Dr. V. K. Dhanyasree.

The celebration featured vibrant decorations, including a beautifully crafted Pookalam—a floral arrangement designed by students. The feast included traditional dishes such as Payasam and Boli, which were prepared by the students themselves. The event also included a series of cultural performances by students, scholars, and faculty, showcasing their various talents. After the cultural program, a game session was held featuring activities like the lemon-and-spoon race, sundharik pottu thodal (pinning the bindi on beauty), and musical chairs. Prizes were awarded to the winners by Dr. Taddi Murali, Head in-charge.

Here are some glimpses of the festival:

Thanks to everyone for participating in the celebration.
