Induction Program of Newly Admitted MLIS Students

Dear All,

We are pleased to inform you that the Department of Library & Information Science at Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, conducted an induction program for the newly admitted MLIS students (Batch 2024-26) on 22nd August 2024 at 11:00 AM.

Dr. Taddi Murali, Head Incharge, welcomed the students and provided an overview of the Department’s journey since its inception. Dr. Akhandanand Shukla, Associate Professor, explained the CBCS pattern and other key elements of the MLIS course curriculum. Dr. K. G. Sudhier, Assistant Professor, highlighted the extra-curricular activities offered by the Department. Dr. Anila Sulochana, Assistant Professor, discussed placement-related activities and job prospects in the LIS field. Dr. V. K. Dhanyasree, Assistant Professor, detailed the UGC-NET coaching activities and their success, as well as other initiatives such as "Anveshan" and "Gyan Pravah," which are organized by the Department for both research scholars and MLIS students. The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Ananya Boruah, a second-year MLIS student.

Job Achievement by Ms. Shijina M.

Dear All, 

This is to inform you that Ms. Shijina M., MLIS pass-out student (2021-2023 batch) and alumnus of the Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur has been appointed as Library Associate under SOUL Project at the INFLIBNET Center, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Special Lecture on Open Access Week 2023@DLIS CUTN

This is to inform you that Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu celebrated International Open Access Week on 31^st October, 2023. On the occasion, Dr. A. Chandrashekaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur delivered the talk on “Open Access Aids for Education”.

Successful Participations in 26th International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD-2023)

Dear All,

This is to inform you that PhD Scholars of the Department have participated and presented their papers in 26th International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD-2023) organized by the INFLIBNET Center, Gandhinagar, Gujarat in association with Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) held on 26-28th October, 2023. 

Mr. Abhijit B. successfully presented his paper on the topic "The Impact of Ontologies and the Semantic Web on Electronic Theses and Dissertation Publishing".

 

Ms. Nayanthara S. successfully presented her paper on the topic "Indian Contribution to Medicine Datasets: An Analysis".

Ms. Bhavya K. P. successfully presented her paper on the topic "A Visibility Check of Disaster Management ETDs in Shodhganga".
