Dr. Akhandanand Shukla Promoted to Professor@DLIS, CUTN

Dear All, 

We are pleased to inform you that Dr. Akhandanand Shukla, Associate Professor in the Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, has been promoted to Professor of Library and Information Science under the Career Advancement Scheme, effective December 2022. Dr. Shukla joined the Department in December 2019 and has completed five years of service at CUTN.

The Department extends its heartfelt congratulations to him on this achievement.  

Participation in International Seminar (RLUIKS-2025) by Dr. Akhandanand Shukla

Dear All,

We are delighted to inform you that Dr. Akhandanand Shukla, Professor in the Department, participated as an Invited Speaker at the two-day International Seminar on "Role of Libraries in Unveiling the Indian Knowledge System in the Digital Era" (RLUIKS-2025). The seminar was organized by the Visva-Bharati Library Network, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, and Universal Briefing, Kolkata, from February 21-22, 2025. Prof. Shukla delivered an invited talk on "Indian Knowledge System and Community Empowerment: Understanding the Role of Traditional Knowledge in Strengthening Communities." 

In addition, Prof. Shukla had the honor of co-chairing a technical session during the seminar.

The Department extends its heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Shukla for his successful participation and valuable contributions to the International Seminar.

Participation in International Seminar (RLUIKS-2025) by Dr. K. G. Sudhier

Dear All, 

We are pleased to inform you that Dr. K. G. Sudhier, Assistant Professor in the Department, participated in and delivered an invited talk on "Upholding Professional Ethics: Navigating Codes of Ethics for the LIS Profession" at the International Seminar on "Role of Libraries in Unveiling the Indian Knowledge System in the Digital Era" (RLUIKS-2025). The seminar was organized by the Visva-Bharati Library Network, Visva-Bharati, and Universal Briefing, Kolkata, from February 21-22, 2025.

Special Lecture on International Mother Language Day 2025

Dear All, 

We are happy to inform you that the Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, is organizing the International Mother Language Day 2025 on 27th February 2025 at 2:30 PM in the Smart Classroom of the Department. Prof. G. Ravindran, Department of Media and Communication, will be the invited speaker for the event.

National Conference on Redefining Librarianship in the AI Technological Era: Innovations, Challenges and Opportunities (ReLAITE-2025)

We are pleased to announce that the Department of Library & Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, is organizing a National Conference on Redefining Librarianship in the AI Technological Era: Innovations, Challenges, and Opportunities (ReLAITE-2025) on 20th-21st March 2025

ReLAITE-2025 offers an excellent opportunity for information professionals and researchers to share their experiences and enhance their expertise. The conference will focus on the latest trends and advancements in AI-driven innovations within the field of librarianship. With carefully curated themes and sub-themes, the conference will address various facets of AI and related technologies, exploring their implications for library services. This event will serve as a dynamic platform for academics and practitioners from across the country to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange ideas, and explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in redefining library services and practices. 

ReLAITE-2025 invites research papers on the following themes and sub-themes:

Students & Faculty Participated in the Book Exhibition 2025

We are pleased to inform you that the students, research scholars, and faculty members of the department participated in the Book Exhibition 2025, organized by Chozha Central Library, Central University of Tamil Nadu, on February 10th-11th, 2025, at the 2nd floor of the Central Library Building. Around 10 publishers/book suppliers participated in the two-day exhibition, where students, scholars, and faculty members explored and recommended suitable books for the Chozha Central Library, CUTN.

Celebration of Samathuva Pongal 2025@CUTN

Dear All, 

This is to inform you that students, research scholars, non-teaching staff, and teachers of the Department of Library and Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu participated in the "Samathuva Pongal Celebration 2025" organized by Central University of Tamil Nadu at Multipurpose Hall on 31.01.2025.
